SpaceX Launches Another 60 Starlink Satellites To Orbit
According to the news on the “Space.com” website, 60 new communication satellites, which will be part of the Starlink internet satellite network, were launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Station in Florida, the USA with the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
The reusable Falcon-9 rocket returned to Earth 9 minutes after launch but failed to land on the company’s unmanned floating landing platform in the Atlantic Ocean.
This was the 19th launch of the company under the Starlink project.
The launch planned for yesterday was delayed due to bad weather conditions.
SpaceX plans to establish a network of 12 thousand satellites in earth orbit with Starlink satellites. The project is aimed to be completed in 2027.
After successfully launching 60 more Starlink internet satellites into orbit, SpaceX on Monday failed to stick the landing of its Falcon 9 first-stage booster for the first time in a year.
The two-stage Falcon 9 booster lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral just before 11 p.m. Monday. About nine minutes later, the rocket’s first stage returned to Earth to attempt its sixth landing on SpaceX’s drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
