2 shot dead, 1 injured in Kenosha: Police looking for man with long gun after third night of Jacob Blake protests
Protests that started and grew in the US state of Wisconsin, which started when the police shot black American Jacob Blake from behind, remained alive for the third night despite the curfew.
Governor Tony Evers declared a state of emergency after the protests spread across the state and the extension of the curfew could not stop protesters who called for “justice for Jacob Blake“.
The police, who wanted to disperse the protesters who had gathered again in front of the Kenosha courthouse, used plastic bullets and tear gas bombs, and after the crowd did not disperse, it was seen that the police drove the armed vehicles on the demonstrators.
HARD INTERVENTION FOR PROTESTORS
While the crowd of protesters who responded to the police intervention with the slogans “Life of Blacks are important” retreated, some of the protesters who were affected by the tear gas were treated by volunteer medical teams.
On the streets of Kenosha, some civilians with guns protecting the environment against looting and arson in gas stations and similar places were reflected in the AA camera.
Black Jacob Blake was seriously injured in the incident that took place on Sunday afternoon in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Speaking to American media, Blake’s father said that his son had eight bullet wounds on his body and was paralyzed from the waist down.
In a video posted on social media, it was seen that the police tried to prevent Blake from opening his car door by pulling him from his clothes and then firing several times from behind.
KILLED IN FRONT OF THE THREE CHILDREN
It was stated that Blake’s three children were in the car when he was shot by the police while trying to get into the car.
The police, on the other hand, made a statement that he went to the scene upon the “family incident” notice.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to the American media claimed that Blake was trying to separate the two women who were arguing and that the police arrived at this time.
In May, the USA witnessed violent protests across the country after the death of black George Floyd as a result of police violence in Minneapolis, Minnesota state, in May.
