Chinese vaccine approved in Hungary, a first in the EU
In Hungary, the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus continues. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that his country was the first EU country to introduce the Covid-19 vaccine developed by the Chinese Sinopharm company against Covid-19.
Hungary, with a population of about 10 million, has ordered 5 million doses of vaccine from China. According to a statement made by health officials in Hungary, 275 thousand doses of vaccine will be administered this week.
Hungary was also the first EU country to introduce Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine. The Hungarian government criticized the EU for taking slow steps in the approval and supply of Covid-19 vaccines.
In the country where the total number of cases reached 410 thousand 129 with the detection of 2 thousand 855 new coronavirus cases today, the number of deaths increased to 14 thousand 552 as a result of 102 more deaths.
