The blaze in southern France started near the village of Gonfaron, about 50km (30 miles) west of of Saint-Tropez
The fire, which broke out near the town of Gonfaron on the side of the A57 highway in the south of the country yesterday evening, grew with the effect of drought and wind and spread to an area of 5 thousand hectares.
100 HOUSES UNDER FLAME
According to the statement made by the Var Governorate, the flames reached about 100 houses, 3 people were slightly injured, 19 people were affected by the smoke.
