Three rare giraffes have died after being electrocuted by low-hanging power lines in Soysambu conservancy in Nakuru, Kenya
Kenya Electricity Company declared that it regrets the incident and that the renovation work will begin on the power lines in the protection area.
It is stated that the endangered Rothschild giraffes remain in the hundreds, mostly in Kenya and Uganda.
One was killed after coming into contact with a stay wire on Sunday, whereas the 2 others have been electrocuted in the same incident on Friday.
All three have been Rothschild’s giraffes, which are listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (ICU).
The deaths occurred at the Soysambu Conservancy in Kenya’s Nakuru County and prompted outrage on social media, notably in the direction of the electricity company that maintains the road.
