Ministry of Health Spokesperson Sima Sadat Lari announced that 156 more people died in the last 24 hours in the COVID-19 outbreak and 2 thousand 619 new cases were detected.
Lari stated that thus, the loss of life caused by the virus increased to 23 thousand 313 and the number of cases to 404 thousand 648.
Stating that 3 thousand 798 of the patients who caught COVID-19 were in severe condition, Lari informed that the number of those who recovered reached 348 thousand 13.
Lari stated that 3 million 586 thousand 848 people have been tested in the country so far.
The Iranian official also included the “red regions” of the provinces of Tehran, Mazenderan, Gilan, Qom, Isfahan, Rezevi Khorasani, East Azerbaijan, Kirman, Northern Khorasan, Simnan, Yazd, Zanjan, and Qazvin; He added that West Azerbaijan, Elburz, Fars, Loristan, Hürmüzgan, Ardabil, Bushehr, Kermanshah, Kohgiluye-Buyer Ahmed, Southern Khorasan, Central, Ilam, Chaharmahal-Bahtiari, Gulistan, and Khuzistan are among the “risky regions“.
The daily cases of COVID-19 in the country fell to 1642 on August 31, and the number of people who died on September 1 fell to 101.
